Today we kept working on the robot. Holes were drilled and pieces were cut. When we keep building the deadline gets closer. We played with the 3-D printer making Pokemon and other cool things. We are enjoying the build season and we also can't wait for competition.

Today we set our project into motion. Our robot is progressing. Our plan consists of a hook on the front of our robot that is capable of picking up any one of the different containers, including the recycling can, without an issue. Our robot is limited to carrying 2 totes at a time. The photo posted below is the beginning stages of our robot.
Today, team 3723, spent from 8:00 in the morning to 1:30 in the afternoon rearranging almost anything an everything in the room after moving our robot components around on the board for better situation and to create equilibrium for the finished robot! It was a long and uneventful day, but we couldn't do much more and the room was a bit over due for some sprucing.
Today was another build day as well as a day intended for determining our design, which will be finished within the near week, if all goes well. The team has been working hard and getting a lot done over this last week. We're hoping to keep the momentum going. Whilst our build team was working so diligently in the room, the programming team went out into the hall and worked on a new program for our robot. Elia, our head programmer had been in and out of the room helping here and there every so often. It is the 12th of January and the team is working on the frame for their robot. The build team is constructing the metal frame and attaching the gear boxes. The wiring team attached a battery box the the wiring board and reattached the main power switch. Stan has stepped into Jame's shoes as safety manager and has already read most of the manual. The team was originally going to use mecanum wheels but they don't work in the frame so they are defaulting to standard wheels. Next meeting will be Wednesday.
Woohoo Build Season! The time has finally come to make an awesome robot that pick up totes (Its only cool because its a robot). Anyways, WE got a bunch done today. We cut our aluminum frame down to size and have gotten it ready to be put together on Wednesday (if we have school... Minnesota Problems). We finished the electronics and got them already to run the motors. We basically got our design down. I'll upload Pictures of the idea as soon as we draw some up. But it seems like we could stack about four crates on top of each other, and then pick it all up and bring it over. We have found our musical channel for the team. It's Tek Nights (Kinda funny what you find when you google your team). It's on a Persian radio podcast. But it plays English songs and remixes them and all that jazz. Anyways, I'll keep you updated as we go. Stay Techy. -Chinnow Hello visitors!
Navy here! After kickoff (and CHIPOTLE!) Our team spent a little extra time sprucing up a bit. The room wasn't exactly the cleanest and we needed an additional shelf for building and storing. So, we rearranged the room a bit and built ourselves a new shelf. After which, we moved our toolbox and whatnot to support it, because our "handy-men" weren't so handy. Haha. But, all in all, it was a good day's work and the team worked together pretty well on everything. We're expecting Recycling Rush to be a good one even though there is no defense. :) All of our ideas that we'd brain stormed just today seem to be excellent!! See ya soon! January 3 Today we went to kickoff to learn what the challenge was. Mr. H locked his key and everything else in his office so Beana picked the lock on the office door. Despite the delay, we were still about an hour early, it was all Cory's fault. This year the challenge is this game called "Recycle Rush". In the game we have to stack crates on top of each other then put a recycling bin on top of the stack. To make it more complicated, we also have to put a piece of litter (a pool noodle) into the recycling bin. At the end of the game any litter left lying on the ground on your side of the playing field counts for 4 points for the opposing alliance. After kickoff we went to Chipotle and filled up on burritos. Our next meeting is on January 5th right after school. Till then, "Spanish Camp". :) |
