Hey, Chinnow here. I am currently prepping for the kickstart of the 2014-15 robotics year!!!! Next week will be our first official meeting. We will be having tryouts to add a little structure to the team. We have broken the team into 8 categories. Building, led by our heavy lifter and 3rd year builder Khristian (PikeBird), is focused completely on the mechanics of the robot. We hope that setting a designated build team will reduce the clutter and confusion of the pits during competition. Fundraising, led by the girl who is outgoing Torriee (Navy), is focused upon the income for the team. As well as setting up event such as sponsor meetings and organizing school events for the team to really reach out to our school. Scouting, led by the curious questionnaire Isaac (Texas), is to keep up with other teams and new discoveries about the rules and equipment available for the challenge this year. Pneumatics, with no designated leader yet, is focusing on the air controlled parts of the robot. This team works side by side with the wiring team, led by yours truly, to complete the multiple functions of the robot. and possibly designing a t-shirt cannon (THAT SOUNDS AWESOME, RIGHT?!). Our organization team, who's leader is to be determined, is about keeping our room organized and keeping all the tools in their proper place. Also they will most likely, because of certain events involving a dremel tool and a 3D printer tube, become enforcers in making sure the tool is used for the correct reasons. And of course what would a robot be without its faithful driver, led by the 4th year driver myself. I will be organizing a team to do the various tasks in order to prepare the robot for its matches. I will also be having tryout for anyone who wants to try and drive.
So as the Team Captain I will be sure to keep everyone informed and do my best to improve the site as much as I can. I will talk to you again next week!
